The healthiness and popularity of Neito Specialty rapeseed oil is based on the following qualities, it:

  • is low in saturated fatty acids
  • is high in oleic acid
  • contains plenty of essential omega-3 alpha-linolenic acids
  • contains beneficial nutrients such as important tocopherols that act as antioxidants, vegetable sterols and phenols, flavonoids as well as vitamin K
  • does not contain trans fatty acids

All these factors play their own significant part in both the nutritional characteristics of the oil as well as its keeping fresh.

Natural manufacturing process

Neito specialty rapeseed oil is manufactured using only carefully monitored natural methods that make it nutritionally all the more valuable. The central idea is to produce an oil - which keeps well, has a mild aroma and meets the quality standards of the most demanding consumer - in the most meticulous and environmentally friendly way possible. The ethical production chain of our rapeseed oil now covers the entire process from the sowing of seeds to the bottled product.

The manufacturing process of Neito oil is based on product development work carried out for close to a decade and partially funded by the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes). Positive nutritional benefits are only magnified in Neito rapeseed oil. Thanks to the unique manufacturing process, the natural and valuable nutrients of rapeseed oil are maintained even more carefully than before. On the other hand, certain carefully selected factors that limit the potential use of Neito oil, such as undesired flavour and colour components as well as ingredients that promote oxidation, have been removed.

In the light handling of the oil, the valuable vitamins and fragile essential fatty acids in rapeseed remain in their original and natural form. In this way, the product also remains nutritionally high in quality.

Oxidation of rapeseed oil

The oxidation of vegetable oils depends, to a great extent, on their fatty acid content. Oil goes rancid faster the more polyunsaturated fatty acids the oil contains. Rapeseed oil’s nutritionally ideal fatty acid content makes it a product that does not go rancid easily. The oil’s natural nutrients also slow down this process, so keeping them in the oil is very important. In this way the nutrients are beneficial to both people and the oil itself.

Broad potential use

Thanks to extremely gentle handling, Neito specialty rapeseed oil has a mild, soft flavour. In addition to nature’s diverse and valuable ingredients, the beautiful yellow colour of the rapeseed fields also remain.

Neito specialty rapeseed oil has been shown to be suitable for most uses such as baking, marinades, mayonnaise, salad dressings etc. Neito rapeseed oil can also be used for frying but due to its natural qualities, it cannot stand high temperatures (180°C) for long periods of time, as in, for example, continual deep-frying. We believe that the unique qualities of Neito oil offer new possibilities for the accentuation of foods’ delicious flavours.
